Reasons I hate writing poetry
Because I can never think of a subject.
Because I never have any deep things to say.
Because I can never write enough words.
Because I write too may words.
Because I can’t think of a big variety of words.
Because everyone else’s poems seem to be significant to them.
Because I can’t express my feelings through words.
Because I have to read it out loud.
Because people raise their hand when they say they liked
writing the poem but this is the only poem I’ve enjoyed.
Because I can’t even understand the meaning behind the other
poems written.
Because I don’t know what a stanza is.
Because I spend more time trying to write poetry than I
spend on my other classes.
Because I constantly have to ask my friends for help.
Because this is the only class I’m struggling with.
Because I never learned how to write poetry in high school.
Because I didn’t know there were so many types of poetry
Because you can’t fake poetry
Because I should be doing my other homework
Because I could be hanging out with my friends
Because I never seem to improve with my poetry
Maybe one day I’ll like writing poetry but not today
